To measure your apparel, you will need a measuring tape. First, wear lightweight clothing and stand straight with your arms at your side. Then, take the following measurements:

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your bust.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, which is typically the narrowest part of your waist.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.

For men’s clothing, measure the following:

  • Neck: Measure around the base of your neck.
  • Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waistline.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
  • Inseam: Measure from the crotch to the bottom of your ankle.

For more detailed instructions on how to measure yourself accurately, check out this guide.

You can also refer to this size chart for standard U.S. clothing sizes for both men and women.

Keep in mind that clothing brands, manufacturers, and retailers use different techniques to design and produce their apparel, so sizing may vary accordingly. These size charts are only guides to help you find the right size for you.

If you prefer maximum comfort and freedom of movement, you may want to size up for less compression and avoid feeling uncomfortable in clothing that is too tight.
